Boolean Mask vs. Boolean Index

I had a general question. What is the difference between a boolean mask and a boolean index? In the “Exploring Data With Pandas: Intermediate” on Page 5 it says boolean mask. I believe this is the first time I’ve seen this phrasing (everything else has been boolean index(ing)).

Hi @mtl1212,

These terms are synonyms, no difference between them. You can also find in different resources the following alternatives: boolean array, boolean vectors, boolean series. You can check this mission screen as one of the examples
