Can't finish - R Guided Project: Analyzing CIA Factbook Data Using SQL

Hi everyone,

I was told by the guided project to run the following code:
“!conda install -yc conda-forge ipython-sql”
on JupyterNotebook but it doesn’t work.
The system showed: "
/bin/sh: 1: conda: not found"

Is this a system bug? This is quite frustrating becasue I did exactly what the system told me to do but didn’t get the resut done.
I am expecting to get this foundamental certificate and I can’t do it now.
I remember it’s not possible to run conda on Jupyter Notebook.

Hope someone can help me solve the problem, thanks!

I found a solution, the guide was so misleading.

The correct code should be:

import sys
!{sys.executable} -m pip install ipython-sql

The guide didn’t work at all.

Hi @ywu272,

You need to install Anaconda first in your local environment. There is no need to install anything if you are doing the Guided Project in Dataquest’s Jupyter Notebook.

To work on this project in your own computer (if you want to), you should install Jupyter. To do this we recommend you install Anaconda — the self-described world’s most popular data science platform.

The default installation of Anaconda installs Jupyter in addition to a plethora of other useful tools. To install it, follow the instructions for your operating system here.

You’ll also need ipython-sql which you can install by starting Jupyter and in a code cell running the following code:

!conda install -yc conda-forge ipython-sql

Hope this clarifies.
