Error in Data Source? The Share of Women Is More than 100%

Screen Link: https://app.dataquest.io/m/254/group-summary-statistics/7/casting

Your Code: SELECT Major_category, CAST(SUM(Women) AS Float )/CAST( SUM(Total) AS Float) as SW from recent_grads group by Major_category order by SW

What I expected to happen:
I expected to find a table of Major_category and SW which is indeed what I got. Dataquest platform approved my answer as correct.
But I see that the share of women (SW) column has values that are above 1 indicating for example that the average Major in Agriculture & Natural Resources consists of 300%.

Hey Semi!

I believe this is actually a bit of a bug on our end — downloading the .db and running it locally produces different results. With that said, it’s not uncommon for there to be errors in data entry as well, so that’s a logical hypothesis to make.

I’ll create a ticket so our engineering team can look into issuing a fix — thanks for bringing it to our attention!
