How the query 2 is correct can any one help me out because i am little bit confused?

Which of the following queries will cause a syntax error?

Query 1:

select (1 + 2) / 10 as result;
Query 2:

SELECT(1 + 2) / 10 AS result;
Query 3:

SELECT (1 + 2) / 10 AS result
SELECT (1 + 2) / 10 AS result
Instructions

Use a SELECT query to select the answer you think is correct.
If you think the correct answer is the first query, write SELECT 1;
If you think the correct answer is the second query, write SELECT 2;
If you think the correct answer is the third query, write SELECT 3;

How do you know query 2 is correct? I think it’s query 3 but unfortunately the DQ platform will not cause a syntax error with any of these due to a strange little quirk regarding the ; symbol on the DQ platform.

UPDATE: Upon doing the assessment myself, I am with you on the confusion as to why SELECT 2; is correct … my best guess is that it’s related to the fact that there is no space after the select clause before the open parenthesis. It kinda makes the SELECT look like it’s being treated like a function call but I could be way off here…

I tried running all three queries outside of the assessment screens and was unable to generate a syntax error with any of these statements. Perhaps it does generate a syntax error in other flavours of SQL but not in sqlite? Any ideas @Sahil ?
