How to import datasets downloaded from the internet for analysis in python

How do I use a dataset that I downloaded from the internet? I want to work with it don’t know how to import it.

Hello @omojemeomookperaboh, welcome to the community!

If you’re using Jupyter locally, you only need to place the dataset in the same directory as the notebook and then, if it’s a .csv file, read it using pd.read_csv('filename.csv').

Okay, thank you. But I’m not referring to the notebook. I’m talking about the IDE. I’m using my phone to learn so I downloaded pydroid. How do I place the dataset in the same directory as the pydroid IDE?

Then you could’ve specified that that’s what you’re talking about.

In all IDEs I’ve used you just need to place the dataset in the same directory as the script or you can pass the entire path to the dataset as the argument for the pd.read_csv() function.

As for how to do it using a phone I can’t help because I never coded in a phone and never used pydroid either.
