Dataquest Project sharers:

  • In his R project on Book Review Analysis, @abomayesan created an efficient data analysis workflow by exploring a book dataset. The project is well-presented, comprehensive, easy to follow, and can be used as an excellent reference for beginner data analysts. This project has also the second part, check it out too!

  • @shaun.oilund shared a project on Hacker News: Ask or Show where they explored the best time to ask questions on HackerNews. The project is noticeable for its helpful navigation system, clear explanations of each stage, and insightful visualizations which corroborate the findings.

@Johnsonk51502, @Ezemonye_Omereji, @yunana, and our always-helpful Community Moderators @wanzulfikri and @artur.sannikov96 did a wonderful job this week by checking other learners’ guided projects and giving them actionable feedback and encouragement.

  • @wanzulfikri found and shared a fascinating article-project where the author masterfully used the data to explore how many times her and her boyfriend’s paths criss-crossed before they met. An absolute must-read! :heart_eyes:

  • @Dechamp shared an alternative, more elegant solution to the question on analyzing sales by country from the guided project on Answering Business Questions Using SQL.

  • @Edelberth shared information on an ongoing Data Science Blogathon and a useful resource on data retrieval tools.

@giovanni.srg shared a high-quality machine learning project on Support Vector Classifier with Python where he used the SVC algorithm to classify the level of customer satisfaction of an airline. The project is noticeable for its excellent explanations, insightful plots of various kinds, and the high accuracy achieved by the algorithm.

Individual Project sharer:

In his individual project on Data Analysis for petrol prices from the Shell Garage, @Frankie build on the skills he has learned doing a guided project and investigated current petrol prices in the UK. The work of Frank is
concise but insightful and, as one of the interesting conclusions, demonstrates the way of how a UK driver can save up to £408 just by avoiding the most expensive petrol stations.

Dataquest Project sharer:

@abomayesan shared another excellent R project on Investigating SAT bias Using NYC Schools in which he analyzed factors that impact the SAT scores in NYC schools. In this perfectly organized and easy-to-follow project, Abomaye showcased his excellent data visualization skills and provided informative and well-presented explanations of the findings.

@Casandra_Hayward, @Ezemonye_Omereji, and our always-helpful Community Moderators reviewed their peers’ guided and personal projects and gave them great ideas on how to further improve their work.
