Safegraph Data Hackathon

Hey folks!

One of my friends is organizing a Data Hackathon in collaboration with Safegraph (, a geospatial data company. The hackathon is quite open-ended, friendly for a wide range of backgrounds, and encourages you to be creative! Here’s a preview of the criteria:

Your challenge is to build an app, tool, visualization or analytic product (for consumers, or for business users, or for any other user you can imagine) that leverages geospatial point-of-interest data from SafeGraph.

The open-ended nature of the project should help make the hackathon feel more approachable, regardless of your comfort with math, visualization, and / or programming! You can also win as a team (not just an individual).

Here are the prizes:

  • 1st place: $2000 & featured on SafeGraph blog
  • 2nd place: $1500
  • 3rd place: $500

The competition started on January 17th and ends on February 24th.
