When I copy and paste code into a new line and then want to modify it, the characters get replaced

Hello everyone, I’m new here and just started my journey to become a DS.

Something is annoying me, when I copy and paste code that I need to use on a different line and try to modify it, the characters get replaced instead of being added in. For example:

if price >= 20 and price < 30:

if I now copy and paste this into a line below and try to modify it, this will happen (step-by-step):

if price >= 20 and price < 30:
ef price >= 20 and price < 30:
el price >= 20 and price < 30:
eliprice >= 20 and price < 30:
elifrice >= 20 and price < 30:
elif ice >= 20 and price < 30:

As you can see, this is very annoying and it is adding unnecessary time to modify the code. How do I prevent this from happening? Any help is appreciated.

Please provide the mission url.

I am not sure if I follow your problem

  • Copying and pasting code into the DQ editor gets additional characters added?

Thank you for your response! I’ve figured it out with a quick Google search!!

To prevent overtyping I just had press the “insert” key once on my keyboard. Now when I modify code it doesn’t delete what was previously on there!
