WITH RECURSIVE Clause

I googled it but I can’t understand this part exactly.
「SUBSTR(’>>>’, 1, level) 」Anyone can explain me?

Because if I use this, SUBSTR.
example,
SUBSTRING(first_name, 3, 4)
・ Nancy → ncy
・Daniel → niel
This is my understanding.

Hi @tyoshioka15959, although I haven’t done this lesson yet, it looks like SUBSTR takes three arguments (X, Y, Z) and returns a substring of X.

  • X is the string you want to take a substring of
  • Y is the character you want to start with
  • Z is the number of characters you want to select, starting at and including the character at position Y
